當地安全嗎?
Very safe for tourists. Petty crime is low outside Dubrovnik and Split tourist zones in peak summer. Landmines from the 1990s war still exist in remote rural areas — stick to marked paths in the countryside.
- Overcharging at restaurants in Dubrovnik's Old Town — always check the bill carefully.
- Unofficial tour guides near Dubrovnik's walls offering 'deals' — book through reputable companies.
- Taxi overcharging from airports — use Uber or agree on fare before departure.
- Good healthcare in cities. EU citizens can use EHIC/GHIC. Private clinics available in tourist areas.
- Jellyfish can be present in summer — ask locals about current conditions before swimming.
- Routine vaccines only. Tick-borne encephalitis vaccine recommended for rural/forested areas.
Tap water is safe throughout Croatia. Sea water along the coast is exceptionally clean.
Do NOT stray from marked paths in rural areas near former conflict zones — unexploded landmines remain. Dubrovnik gets overwhelmingly crowded when cruise ships dock — plan visits around ship schedules.

文化方面有哪些該知道的?
- Explore beyond Dubrovnik — Split, Hvar, Zadar, Plitvice Lakes, and Istria are incredible.
- Try fresh seafood, peka (slow-cooked meat/octopus), and local wines from Istria and Pelješac.
- Island-hop along the Dalmatian coast — each island has its own character.
- Don't only do Dubrovnik — Croatia's coastline stretches for hundreds of kilometers with stunning variety.
- Don't bring up the 1990s war casually — it's recent and deeply personal for many Croatians.
- Don't block walkways in Dubrovnik's Old Town — it's narrow and packed in summer.
Tip 10% at restaurants. Round up for taxis and coffee. Tipping is appreciated and increasingly expected in tourist areas.
Casual and beach-friendly along the coast. Cover shoulders and knees in churches. Smart-casual for dining in upscale coastal restaurants.
Predominantly Catholic. Churches and cathedrals are important cultural sites. Dress modestly when entering. Religious festivals are celebrated enthusiastically.
